Local pilot and flight instructor Ed Holland has written a new book – “Cloudbase, An Odyssey of Flight”
Here is bit of background on Ed and his love of aviation:
I was born on Virginia’s Eastern Shore as the son of a farm supplier and school teacher. The days of my childhood were spent often dreaming of flying until I was finally able to take my first ride in a small airplane at the age of fifteen. From that point on, I knew that I wanted to be a pilot. As good fortune would have it, my first flight instructor was a super-patient man who guided me through the early stages of flying. After completing my first solo, I went off to college and during those years, my flying was limited. After college, I was finally able to complete my training and obtained my pilot’s certificate. In the ensuing years, I worked my way through additional ratings of commercial pilot and flight instructor. After happening into a multitude of ferrying jobs, I was able to get a bird’s eye view of most of the lower 48 states in the US. The trips were filled with fun and adventure and the occasional, heart-pounding moments so well known to pilots. As a flight instructor, I have enjoyed teaching well over one hundred people to fly and have found a joy beyond imagination in sharing the sky with students, both young and old. My prayers are that the Lord will give me many more years in the sky.
The books are $12 each and they are available in the Fly High Shop at KEXX or via the link below:
