Why Choose KEXX?

A General Aviation Airport offering convenient access to Central North Carolina

KEXX (Davidson County Airport) is a full service airport offering convenient access to High Point, Lexington, Thomasville and the greater Piedmont Triad region.

The airport encompasses 330 acres, with ramp and tie-down parking space spanning 7.5 acres, and a combined 143,510 sq. ft. of hangar space featuring:

50 T-Hangars

6 60′ x 60′ Corporate Hangars

1 100′ x 120′ Community/Corporate Hangar, Heated

1 Maintenance Hangar, Heated

KEXX is directly adjacent to Interstate 85, Highway 52 and Business 85.

Size and Growth

The airport’s 5,004-foot runway is able to comfortably handle dual-wheel planes up to 60,000 lbs. while an upcoming runway strengthening and resurfacing project will take that capacity up to 120,000 lbs. A long anticipated MALSR approach lighting system is nearing completion of the design and planning phase and we expect ground to be broken in late 2018.

With its convenient access to the Piedmont Triad (Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and High Point) the Davidson County airport is working hard to attract new aircraft and long-term tenants. Build to suit sites for hangars from 10,000 to 40,000 sq. ft. are currently available including two locations that feature their own entrance. Our continued effort will be essential as the business park, that is being developed on I-85 less than four miles from our location, begins to attract more industry and business jets eyeing the most efficient way to get to and from the park.

KEXX is home to RCR Air, the flight department of Richard Childress Racing and Wake AirCare, the medivac helicopter for Wake Forest Baptist Health.
