Big Toy Day

A big thank you goes out to all the visitors, vendors, and staff that made this year’s Big Toy Day and Fly-In a success! from: http://lexington-davidson.communitiesinschools.org/?p=851

Big Toy Day is a success!

Nearly 1,000 kids and their families visited the Davidson County Airport on Aug. 25 to take part in Big Toy Day.
Once again, Communities In Schools of Lexington/Davidson County can proudly say that Big Toy Day was both hugely fun and hugely successful! We saw close to 1,000 kids and their families out at the Davidson County Airport visiting the owners of more than 40 “big toys.” The Young Eagles gave over 50 free airplane rides and we sold too many hot dogs and snow cones to count! Several of our most popular activities were free thanks to the generosity of volunteerswho painted faces, applied temporary tattoos, and led yard games. We would like to thankRyan Short Entertainment for providing the bounce house! A very special thank-you goes to the CIS Board of Directors for the time and energy they spent making Big Toy Day the success that it was. CIS congratulates the winners of our Building and Bike raffles: Bob White won an 8×12 storage building provided by Outback Builders. Tanner B. won the boys’ bicycle. Sabrina Briggs won the girls’ bicycle. For more photos of all the fun we had this year at Big Toy Day, visit us on Facebook!
