Improvements to the runway at the Davidson County airport have become necessary after excessive cracking began to take over the surface. Davidson County Manager Zeb Hanner said the improvements will not only aid in smoother, safer landings for airplanes that are regularly in and out of the airport, but could also attract larger aircraft and ultimately more revenue for the facility.
The runway construction is expected to cost the DOT about $3.25 million with a draft construction date of fiscal year 2020.
